I own a dell demension L800R computer. Does anyone know which knob strokes to enter the system BIOS?

The adjectives keys used for most are:

Del

F2

sometimes F10
Usually the bios is any del or F8.
Tap F2 as you turn it on. It should flash a message you are entering setup..
Try tapping del, F2, F8, F10, F12 or ctrl+s as it is booting. Sometimes holding down a knob will make it estimate the keyboard is missing and confer you a prompt to enter BIOS.
