running on window xp



Roughly 1 or 2 times a month my computer crashes, when i turn it back on again it stalls on the Pentium 4 logo which appears in the past the windows xp loading peak. i fiddle around near the hard drive wires connecting from the motherboard on to the complex drive. once i do this the computers works like common. what could be the problem? how could i stop this from happening?.
