i agree next to neo. but make sure your notebook use on board nouns card. if no, connect the cable to your sound card.
Maybe your I/O setting have been corrupted. Try exam the CD on other computer. If ok, be set to your computer system files had be corrupted.



Format the computer. Or use other player (software).
Can you play your CD/DVD using WMP?



If your WMP/Itunes can read the cd/dvd and it is playing it but no sound is coming out afterwards maybe you didnt connect the audio cable from the CD/DVD rom to your motherboard.



If your system cannot read the cd/dvd channel your disc is spoilt
