you are going to want dvd ripping software. do a google search for ripping software and do for a while research. DVD decrypter is one of the best but is rather complicated to use.

Also in that is no difference between the security of a purchased dvd and a rented dvd. The protection algorithm is the same, that guy hasn't a clue what he is conversation about if he think someone wrote different security encryption for rented dvds.
First you hold to make sure that your DVD burner say DVD-RW and also you need software to copy DVDs such as sonic, you could jump to downloads.com or hippofiels.com and find free trials, and free ones.
legally, you can't...rental dvd's hold different copywrights then purchased, purchased dvds can be copied, rented cannot; or at lowest not easily. If it is a purchased dvd, you're gonna call for a couple of things, a dvd decryptor, dvd shrink (most commercial dvds are larger than the standard dvd-r) and a program that will make the dvd copy...Nero is particularly good.

As far as making a copy of a rented dvd, its outstandingly ilegal and thats where family get contained by big trouble with the fcc and also the rental places.
download a free programme call shrink it and nero is pretty gopod to actualy burn

if you email me i will give you more detailed instrutions hoarding other programmes if you hit more tightly copy righted dvds
i suggest popsnail video converter..

it very nice ...
find rental properties
